Meet Your Street
Meet Your Street applications will also be deferred until the Corona Virus restrictions are lifted.
Meet Your Street aims to support local residents to hold neighbourhood events or activities as a way for neighbours to interact and engage with each other.
Do you have an idea to Meet Your Street? We're supporting Monash residents to get to know their neighbours by providing grants of up to $500 for Meet Your Street activities.
Initially the Meet Your Street Grants are open to residents living within four pilot areas in Ashwood, Glen Waverley, Clayton and Wheelers Hill. We hope the project will be expanded across the municipality in the future.
For more information, please contact Kate Bolaffi, Meet Your Street Project Officer, on 9518 3531 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Relationships Australia’s update on Neighbour Day 2020 in response to COVID19.
Every day is neighbour day. Relationships Australia acknowledges that right across the country, Australians are facing unprecedented times. We are in the middle of a worldwide pandemic and while the strength we draw from each other, from our relationships and our wider communities, has never been more important, we appreciate that changing conditions, and new directives from government, have necessitated a shift in the way we interact. Physical gatherings on Neighbour Day 2020 are no longer feasible. We recommend that people make themselves aware of the public health authorities’ advice. Visit https://www.health.gov.au/ to stay up to date and informed, so that you can keep yourselves and your neighbourhood healthy.

Operation Safe Plates
Due to recommendations from NHW Victoria regarding the Corona Virus, the Safe Plate Day scheduled for the 4th April has been cancelled.
The program involves NHW volunteers replacing number plate screws with one-way security screws which make the theft of those plates difficult. Stolen plates are used by criminals to evade tolls, in petrol theft drive offs and in more aggressive and sometimes violent criminal activities.
